Will I be unconscious when in hypnosis? No. Many people think that hypnosis is sleep or loss of awareness. That's not true. In hypnosis, you do not fall asleep or lose conscious awareness. You are alert and aware of everything at all times. You can hear everything the hypnotherapist says to you.
Will I be made to do crazy things...like cluck like a chicken? No. People gain a misconception from watching hypnosis stage shows. The stage hypnotist is an entertainer and the participants volunteer to go on stage and perform silly things. They are giving their consent to act silly.
I am concerned that I won't be in control when I'm in hypnosis. Hypnosis is not about losing control or surrendering ones will. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. This means a person who does not want to be hypnotized cannot be so. There is no magic or voodoo involved.
If I get hypnotized does that mean I am "weak minded"? If you are hypnotized, you are NOT weak-minded. According to experts, there is a scientific correlation between intelligence and the ability to be hypnotized. The greater the intelligence, the better the hypnotic subject.
Can I get stuck in hypnosis? No. It is simply impossible to "get stuck" in a state of hypnosis. Remember, in hypnosis you are always awake, alert and in control. To come out of hypnosis, you simply open your eyes and you terminate the hypnotic state.
